About WBBE
WBBE was established in January 2008 by Jane Barratt and has since developed a strong and broad client base which is continually growing. Prior to establishing WBBE Jane worked for the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) in the Vegetation Management Unit. This experience enabled Jane to gain a comprehensive understanding of Queensland’s complex Vegetation Management Framework governing the clearing of vegetation on all tenures. This experience also provided an insight into the complexities and associated confusion surrounding this legislation and the need to translate the laws into everyday language on the ground.
WBBE has developed and continues to maintain a strong professional working relationship with a diverse client base including surveyors, land development consultants, farmers, Ergon Energy, real estate agents, Earthmoving Contractors, Bundaberg Sugar, Wide Bay Water and many business units within DERM. Each client has different needs which WBBE strives to fulfil in the most resource effective manner.
Technology
WBBE uses the latest GIS software both in the office and in the field to accurately map areas of non- remnant and remnant vegetation and to identify the location and extent of individual regional ecosystems at the property scale. This is achieved through the use of various mapping products including satellite and aerial imagery.
